About
Who I am
I'm Oleh /oˈlɛɦ/, a self-taught software developer with a strong interest in systems programming and software engineering. Most of what I know comes from building personal projects, reading documentation, and spending a lot of time figuring out how software works under the hood.
What I do
I enjoy building software close to the hardware, from programming languages and virtual machines to developer tools and graphics applications. I primarily work in C++ and Rust, but I'm always happy to learn new technologies when a project calls for them.
How I work
I prefer understanding why code works instead of treating it as a black box. Whether I'm implementing a compiler, tracking down a difficult bug, or learning a new API, I enjoy exploring the details and understanding how each piece fits into the bigger picture.
Outside of programming
Outside of programming, I enjoy mathematics and physics because they challenge the way I think and solve problems. I'm also a big aviation enthusiast, with a particular interest in aircraft, flight simulators, and aerospace engineering. When I want to slow down a bit, I like taking photos with my Nikon D3200, especially of aircraft, and I enjoy shooting in manual mode to get the shot just the way I want it.
